〜溶接加工対応範囲が約30%拡大、板厚違い形状も自動見積り可能に〜

株式会社ミスミグループ本社（本社：東京都千代田区、代表取締役社長：大野龍隆、以下：ミスミ）が提供する機械部品調達のAIプラットフォーム「meviy（メビー）」は、2024年1月29日より、溶接加工（以下、板金溶接）における「板厚違い溶接」の対応を開始します。これにより、板厚違いの構成パーツを含んだ板金溶接の自動見積もりが可能となり、板厚違い溶接の最短7日目出荷が可能となりました。
ミスミでは、今後もサービスの向上を通して、IA（インダストリアル・オートメーション）産業のお客さまにグローバルで時間価値を提供し、生産性の向上に貢献してまいります。

背景


一般的に、板金溶接加工は切削加工の置き換えとして利用されることが多く、板金曲げ加工と比べ、板厚が異なる構成パーツ同士を溶接できることがメリットとされています。一方、現代でも人手による加工が主流なため、調達に多くの時間を要する※1というデメリットもあります。
meviyでは、多くのお客様からのご要望を受けて昨年11月より板金溶接サービス※2を開始し、これまでに「納期が確実で、以前より早く手配できる」、「複数パーツで構成される溶接品を簡単に手配でき、組立に要していた工数が省ける」など、ご好評をいただいています。
今回、更にシステム・生産体制の再構築を行うことで、板金溶接サービスにおける「板厚違い溶接」の自動見積もりを実現、見積対象形状を約30%拡大しました。
これにより、これまで自動見積もり対象外であった板厚違いの板金溶接品についても短納期での調達が可能となるとともに、板厚の混在を意識することなく一括で自動見積もり可能となり調達にかかる工数を削減することができます。

From January 29, 2024, meviy, an AI-based parts procurement platform powered by MISUMI Group Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan; Representative Director and President: Ryusei Ono) will start offering sheet metal welding service for different plate thicknesses. This new feature enables meviy to auto-quote sheet metal welding of the parts composed of different plate thicknesses, with shipping as early as the 7th day from order receipt.
We will continue to provide time value to our global customers in the IA (Industrial Automation) industry through expanding our services and contribute to enhancing their productivity.

Background


In general, sheet metal welding is often used as a substitute for cutting and has an advantage over sheet metal bending in that it can weld parts of different thicknesses. On the other hand, the disadvantage of welding is that it takes a long time to procure*1 because manual welding is still prevalent even today.
In response to requests from many customers, meviy launched sheet metal welding*2 service in November 2023. Since then, we have received a lot of positive feedback, such as "Delivery time is reliable and procurement can be done faster than before" and "Welded multi-part products can be easily procured, saving man-hours of assembly time.".
This time, by further restructuring our IT system and production system, we achieve to auto quote sheet metal welding for different plate thicknesses and expand the target shapes of auto quoting by about 30%.
This enables the procurement of welded parts with different plate thicknesses, which were previously not supported for auto quoting, with a shorter delivery lead time. In addition, the ability to run a batch auto quote without having to account for variations in plate thickness reduces the man-hours required for procurement.

Supported Types: Fabrication and welding of sheet metal parts including parts with different plate thicknesses　
(Currently, only multi-solid models*3 are supported; integrated models will be supported in the future.)
Supported Materials: Steel, stainless steel, aluminum, various surface treatments
(Only combinations of materials in the same line are supported.)
Number of Plate Thicknesses Supported: Up to 3 different thicknesses in the same model
Welding type: Arc welding or laser welding (Auto setting is available), various welding methods including continuous welding, intermittent welding, spot welding
Finishing: Weld descaling only. Grinder finish
Delivery time: Ship as early as day 7 after order receipt
3 A CAD model that consists of separate solids for each component part.
